Technology in hearing care never sits still for long, and the newest arrival from Oticon in this past week is proof of that. Oticon has just introduced **Oticon Reveal**, a hearing aid built around something
the industry has never seen before — two dedicated AI systems working together, in real time, inside a single device.
If you’re someone who has grown used to hearing aids that either amplify everything or aggressively filter out background sound, Reveal is worth paying attention to. Here’s what’s new, and why it might be the upgrade you’ve been waiting for.
What Makes Reveal Different?
Most hearing aids treat background noise as a problem to be solved — the more aggressively they filter it out, the more the world around you can start to feel flat, distant, or artificial. Oticon took a different approach with the Reveal devices.
Instead of relying on a single AI system to manage everything happening around you, Reveal runs **two dedicated AI engines simultaneously**:
- **Speech AI** continuously identifies and sharpens the voices of the people talking to you, so conversation stays front and center.
- **Context AI** recognizes and balances the sounds around you — footsteps, radio or TV playing in the room, a car approaching — instead of stripping them away entirely.
- Both systems run at once, powered by Oticon’s all-new Reveal AI platform, the third generation of the company’s AI sound processing technology.
Why This Matters for You
Hearing loss doesn’t just make things quieter — it changes how your brain has to work to make sense of sound. Oticon’s philosophy has centered on **BrainHearing™**, the idea that we hear with our brains, not just our ears. According to Oticon’s internal research,
the Dual AI approach in Reveal produces a notably stronger brain response compared to their previous generation of hearing aids, helping the brain process speech and surrounding sound with far less effort.
In practical terms, that could mean:
- Following conversations more naturally in restaurants, family gatherings, or group settings
- Feeling less mentally exhausted at the end of a long day of listening
- A more complete, three-dimensional sense of the world around you — not just the voice in front of you
A Compact, All-Day Design
Reveal comes in Oticon’s compact miniRITE style, paired with a new connectivity platform offering stronger signal strength and Oticon’s best-ever streaming stability for hands-free calls and audio. It also supports Bluetooth® LE (low energy) audio and Auracast™
broadcast technology, along with reliable, all-day rechargeable power. Oticon has also improved the hearing aid’s feedback management, meaning fewer whistles or squeals when you’re on the phone or giving someone a hug.
For patients with single-sided hearing loss, Oticon is also introducing a new CROS solution designed to work alongside Reveal — bringing Dual AI technology to that population for the first time as well.
Is Reveal Right for You?
If your current hearing aids are more than 3 years old, chances are they’re relying on much older technology, (likely designed in 2019 or 202) — a single processor doing its best to keep up with a noisy world. Reveal represents a genuine shift in how hearing
aids think about sound, not just an incremental update.
The best way to know if it’s the right fit for your hearing loss, lifestyle, and budget is to hear it for yourself. Our audiologists can walk you through how Reveal compares to what you’re wearing now, side-by-side, right here in our office.
