GN ReSound OMNIA 5
Your hearing is one of a kind. ReSound OMNIA™ 5 hearing aid uses the unique shape of your ear to collect sounds, just as nature intended. It is the first hearing device to use M&RIE (the Microphone and Receiver-in-Ear) technology. M&RIE adds another microphone in the ear canal that helps users better pinpoint where the sound is coming from – enriching your daily sound environments and creating a more natural hearing experience.
The ReSound OMNIA 5 hearing aid is ideal for individuals that spend the majority of their time in quiet environments to help them hear better around the home, in intimate conversations and small group settings, or while watching TV. It features a receiver in canal (RIC) style that sits comfortably and discreetly behind the ear. ReSound OMNIA 5 is available in a variety of colors and features a lithium-ion rechargeable battery for performance that lasts all day. Bluetooth® connectivity allows you to connect to your smartphone or tablet so you can communicate and listen your way.

Frequently Asked Questions
to Help You Prepare
3 things are needed to purchase devices at Evolution Hearing.
- An appointment with one of our doctors for a new patient diagnostic suite
- Photo ID and major health insurance card(s)
- Excitement for restoration of hearing that you have been missing!
About 30% of all major medical plans have benefits for hearing aids. Each carrier and contract are different, so we can make a benefits verification call, or you may call them yourself. Please ask them for any benefits for the ICD-10 code of V5261 – Hearing aids, Digital Binaural. The phone number is usually on the back of your insurance card.
Scheduling online is available. We can reach out to you to schedule, or you can call or email us and we can schedule your appointment and walk you through the process. Plan for about 90 minutes for a full diagnostic intake appointment.
Yes – hearing aids are considered Class 1 medical devices by the FDA, and require an audiogram and physical exam. Other categories that “may” not require an appointment are Over The Counter Hearing aids (OTC) or personal amplifiers. Ears and hearing are complicated, and tie very closely with cognitive decline and other serious medical conditions. Be wary of any business that does not require a physical appointment.
There are 2 forms we need.
- The HIPAA information release. This is your authorization to convey your HIPAA protected information to the person, or people you choose (spouse, children, etc.). If you do not wish to share, that is also a choice.
- Intake document that allows us to custom tailor your suite of tests, and our hearing aid recommendations.
If no hearing loss is found, the appointment is about 30 minutes. If hearing loss is found, plan on the full 90 minutes for our new patient diagnostic suite, and allowance for us to answer any and all questions you may have.
Photo ID, and major health insurance cards (if not previously provided). We do request that you bring a loved one or family member who speaks to you on a regular or daily basis. We use this person’s voice during our testing process.
This rarely happens, but it is possible. You have 90 days of trial period to determine if the devices are right for you. During this period, you will have several appointments with the audiologist to make adjustments, or exchange for the best fit. Please understand that wearing a pair of hearing aids does not instantly restore hearing; it is a rehabilitative process.
That said – if devices are returned for any reason, we refund 100% of the purchase price of the devices.
The most common statement we hear from patients is: “I don’t know why I waited so long, I should have done this years ago!”
By waiting another year or more, you miss out on all things hearing; meaning that the details of conversations, the subtle distinctions in words, and the general human connections we make by listening to each other will have to be put off for another year.
We have never seen hearing improve, by waiting a year. Typically, hearing loss worsens over time, particularly untreated loss (not wearing devices). Don’t wait!
